China will offer tax breaks to solar manufacturers as the industry struggles to recover from both oversupply and diminished export demand, the Ministry of Finance said. In a short statement dated Sept. 23 and posted online Sept. 29, the ministry said it would refund 50 percent of value-added taxes to manufacturers of solar power products to encourage green energy and "promote the healthy development" of the solar industry. The tax breaks will run from Oct. 1 until the end of 2015, the statement said.
