Denmark Extends Deadline to Phase Out Four Phthalates Until December 2015

Companies selling goods in Denmark will be given two more years to phase out the use of the phthalates DEHP, DBP, BBP, and DIBP, because the substances are "far more common than expected," the Danish government said May 29. A ban on phthalates in products sold in Denmark originally was scheduled to come into force in late 2013, following an executive order approved by the Danish government in August 2012.
