摘要

A number of EU directives that set worker protection standards should be updated to bring them in line with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, according to a proposal published by the European Commission. The Commission said the update would not change the scope or level of protection provided by the directives, but would simply bring their terminology in line with GHS and make them consistent with the CLP Regulation (Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on the classification, labeling, and packaging of substances and mixtures), which implements GHS in the European Union. The proposal was published Feb. 26.
