Alberta Premier: Home of Canada Oil Sands To Follow U.S.-China Lead on Carbon Rules

Alberta, home to Canada's oil sands, is prepared to follow the U.S. and China with stiffer carbon regulations for the fossil-fuel industry, Premier Jim Prentice said. "It's a positive step forward," Prentice said in an interview Nov. 12. "It's the desire of Alberta to be participatory in any sort of international agreement that we can arrive at modeled on what the United States and China have been able to achieve."
