Canada's Finalized Vehicle GHG Emissions Standards Align With Those of U.S.

The Canadian government has published final regulations to cut greenhouse gas emissions from passenger automobiles and light trucks in the 2017-2025 model years and maintain alignment of Canadian standards with those in the U.S. The final amendments to the Passenger Automobile and Light-Truck Greenhouse Gas Emission Regulations build on the success of the previous regulations covering the 2011-2016 model years by imposing progressively more stringent annual fleet average emissions standards over the 2017-2025 model years, Environment Canada said in a regulatory impact analysis published with the final regulations in the Oct. 8 issue of the Canada Gazette, Part Ⅱ.
