摘要

Overall water quality problems in China "continue to be severe" and tackling air and soil pollution "remain difficult tasks," Li Ganjie, vice minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), said at a news briefing June 4 by the State Council Information Office in Beijing that reviewed key environmental quality data from 2013. Li stated that the Air Pollution Action Plan that was released in September 2013 was a "landmark" event in the battle against air pollution and that the MEP wanted to make sure that forthcoming action plans for water and soil pollution could be drafted with the same level of sophistication. "To win this war against pollution means we need to do better at preventing and treating air, water and soil pollution," Li said.
