摘要

The State Department delay in the review process for the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline has renewed calls for legislation to force President Barack Obama to make a decision. The State Department announced April 18 that it will extend the federal interagency review process indefinitely because of a Nebraska lawsuit over the pipeline route from Canada to Texas. State Department officials said they also need more time to review and consider the "unprecedented" number of new public comments, totaling 2.5 million, received during a public comment period that closed March 7.
