摘要

Nine out of 10 South Korean companies affected by the country's new chemicals registration requirements are concerned about adverse impacts on production, the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry said in a report Aug. 27. The organization's survey of 302 South Korean companies showed that 91.4 percent of the respondents expected major impacts on production from their compliance with K-REACH, the South Korean version of the European Union's REACH regulation (Regulation No. 1907/2006 on the registration, evaluation and authorization of chemicals). K-REACH officially took effect in South Korea on Jan. 1. "Disruption in chemicals imports, delays in new product releases, and delays in research and development" were cited as top concerns, said the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), which has 150,000 business members nationwide.
