Canadian Fracking Water Disposal Study Will Assist in Site Selection, Industry Says

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers said a new study on water used in hydraulic fracturing will assist the industry in choosing underground disposal sites for that water to protect the environment and allow sustainable development. Nonprofit Geoscience BC and partners B.C. Oil and Gas Commission, B.C. Oil and Gas Research and Innovation Society, and CAPP July 24 released the study, which builds on current geological knowledge for the addition of safe deep disposal areas for water and fluids from producing wells and hydraulic fracturing operations.
