摘要

Kenya pledged July 24 to cut its greenhouse gas emissions 30 percent below business-as-usual levels by 2030 in its contribution toward a global deal to fight climate change. The formal climate pledge, known as an Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), is considered further proof that even relatively small emitters can play a role in the climate agreement expected to come out of a year-end United Nations summit in Paris. Kenya joins other developing nations that are pitching in, including Morocco, Gabon and most recently the Marshall Islands (38 INER, see related story, 7/29/15).
