South Korea Adds Seven More Products To K-REACH Chemical Product Watch List

Disinfectants, insect repellents, preservatives, anti-rust additives, fog inhibitors, coloring and discoloring agents, and tattoo inks have been added to the list of "risk-concerned products" under the Law on the Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals, South Korea's Ministry of Environment said June 24. Risk-concerned products are subject to restrictions for in-product use of regulated chemical substances, as well as labeling rules on risk communication, starting June 26. Product manufacturers and importers need to clear chemical safety tests before product release, and once every three years thereafter, according to the ministry.
