EU Calls for Comments on Effectiveness of Law to Combat Illegal Logging Imports

The European Commission April 15 published a consultation calling for input into a review of a 2010 European Union regulation designed to prevent imports of illegally logged timber into the bloc. In the consultation, the commission said the review would assess the "functioning and effectiveness" of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) (EU Regulation No. 995/ 2010), especially its impact on smaller companies, and the range of timber products that fall within its scope.
