Areas across China are struggling to meet a year-end deadline for dealing with construction projects that violate environmental laws and regulations, the government said. Most parts of China are at about 80 percent compliance with the Ministry of Environmental Protection order to fix the problems, but Guangdong province and Tianjin municipality have dealt with only about 40 percent of the problem projects, according to a Nov. 28 notice from the State Council.
