Japan Law Change Would Change Renewable Feed-in-Tariff Rules

In an effort to lower renewable energy prices while increasing output, the Japanese Parliament passed legislation May 25 to overhaul how wholesale prices are set for renewable energy. The measure approved by the Diet would revise the current process, under which the government sets the feed-in-tariff prices at which independent power providers sell solar, biomass and other renewable energy to electric utilities.
