Taiwan Extends Tax Waiver to Boost Electric Vehicle Purchases

Taiwan hopes to put more electric vehicles on its roads by extending through 2021 tax incentives set to expire next year. Only around 900 Taiwanese car buyers have taken advantage of a licensing tax waiver for electric cars, but in a move to curb air pollution, the parliament revised Taiwan's vehicle licensing tax Nov. 14 to extend the waiver through 2021 and to include electric motor scooters.
