German Green Power Output Up 10 Percent After Wind, Solar Boom

Power generated in Germany by green sources jumped 10 percent in the first half of the year compared with a year ago, according to the latest report of the Federal Environment Office. Electricity generated from wind, solar, biomass and hydro plants grew to 107 terawatt-hours in the first six months, including 19.5 terawatt-hours in June, according to the ministry. It cited growing in wind and solar farms of 44 percent and 59 percent respectively as driving the boom.
