Given its title and the composition of the contributorship, it seems that this book has a wide-ranging target readership including oil industry in-house lawyers, practising solicitors/attorneys and barristers/advocates, and academics; reference is made too to government lawyers.rnThe fact that the UKCS was (in 2007) a mature hydrocarbon province provided the rationale for the first edition of this book and also explains the need for an expanded update only four years later: maturity can present existing problems and challenges in a new light and has the continuing potential to open up new problems and challenges.
