Fiscal Regime for Solid Minerals Development in Nigeria

The continuing practice of governments around the world in offering fiscal incentives is an indication of governments' firm belief in their potency in attracting investments.55 It is obvious that the NMMA has in place a satisfactory fiscal regime which is capable of attracting investment in Nigeria's solid minerals sector. However, since investors look beyond fiscal incentives to relevant socio-political factors, it is imperative that the Federal Government of Nigeria accelerates efforts at addressing insecurity, corruption and infrastructural decay which pose serious challenges to any form of investment in Nigeria.
