Newly Revised Environmental Protection Law

On April 24, 2014, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (the NPC), Chinas paramount legislature, adopted a revised version of the Environmental Protection Law (the EPL). This new law marks the first amendment to China's environmental legislation in 25 years and will take effect on 1 January 2015.
