Trends are not toward Asian dominance but a rebalancing of the global economy and global leadership

For decades I've advocated the importance of the Asian economic takeoff. Forty years ago I argued that "The Rise of the Pacific Basin" would reshape global economics and politics. Twenty years ago I published The Rise of China: How Economic Reform Is Creating a New Superpower. Critical reaction to both ranged from skeptical to acerbic, but optimism about Asian growth proved accurate.
