Colour & Textiles Award At Graduate Fashion Week

A third-year BA (Hons) Fashion (Womenswear/Textiles) student at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in London has won the SDC Colour & Textiles Award at Graduate Fashion Week 2008. Laura Fauvel's winning designs were based on her origins in Papua New Guinea and inspired by birds of prey. Laura was presented with her trophy at the prestigious GFW Gala Show, where she also received a cheque for ￡750, plus ￡250 for the Ravensbourne Fashion Department. Comments co-judge Chris Sargeant, SDC vice-president for fashion and design: "The SDC award attracted nominations from almost fifty per cent more colleges this year, which demonstrates the increasing success of the Society in encouraging colour excellence and creativity.
