MAHLO AMERICA IS celebrating its 50th anniversary after it spun out from Germany's Mahlo GmbH. Based at the heart of the US textile industry in Spartanburg, SC, the company quickly made a name for itself in the field of straightening machines after first opening its doors in 1968.However, with many US-based companies outsourcing their production to the Far East in search of lower costs, the US textile industry suffered a downturn, with an estimated 650 factories closing between 1997-2009.
