Now, here we are at the end of the 50 year history of the Ford Mustang. While the basic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, four-seat configuration has remained a constant, almost everything else has changed from generation to generation. Starting with a 181.6-inch length on a 108-inch wheelbase, Mustang has been as short as 175 inches and as long as 189.5 inches with wheelbases from 96.2 inches to 109 inches. Engines have ranged from 2.3-liter four-cylinder units all the way up to a 7.0-liter 429-cubic-inch big-block V-8 with a variety of six-cylinder and V-8 engines in between. Many or these engines continue to be rebuilt with power enhancing aftermarket products on a daily basis. Truly a fun car to drive and own from generation to generation, not many nameplates can make that acclaim.
