The use and abuse of FIDIC in South East Asia - Part 1

The International Conditions of Contract, FIDIC, have been used in South East Asia for several decades. Their use has been largely promoted by the active support given by the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Associations (IFAWPCA) and the various engineering institutions associated with FIDIC. Before looking at some of the provisions in the current 4th Edition of FIDIC, it is worth noting that the 3rd Edition (and believe it or not, even the 1st and 2nd Editions) are still used in some cases.
