Innovation in action

摘要

The civil and structural problems encountered during the project to upgrade South Africa's Table Mountain cableway and ancilliary facilities called for innovative and unusual solutions from Cape Town-based consulting engineers, Hawkins, Hawkins and Osborn (HHO). To meet not only the tight deadlines of the opening of the tourist season, but also the stipulations of the National Monuments Commission, HHO instigated clever practices on this fast track project which was carried out often under demanding construction and adverse weather conditions.
