Construction equipment sales in China, Europe, India, Japan and North America are expected to hit 773000 units this year, down -0.7% from 2011 's figure of 778421 machines, according to data from Off Highway Research. The specialist consultant said this flattening-off followed growth of+ 16.7% in 2011. The Chinese equipment market is forecast to fall -5% this year to 409442 units, having peaked in 2011 at 429120 machines.
