The start of this year has seen Atlas Copco launch new asphalt and soil compactors, a compact paver and a mobile feeder, all of which are designed to be safe for the operator and sensitive to the environment, among other improvements. Herman Mattyssen, Atlas Copco Road Construction Equipment's vice president for marketing, said, "We have to make sure the new product is doing better than before, with enhanced productivity, but needing less energy and producing less emissions." New in the roller range is the Dynapac CG2300 asphalt compactor, a rigid framed unit with pivoting, offsettable drums, which sits alongside the company's articulated CC machines. The 9.2 tonne machine has 1.5 m wide drums, the edges of which can be seen by the operator thanks to a sideways sliding seat and steering assembly.
