Construction equipment sales in North America have been at good levels in 2019 - as the year draws to a close, expectations from Off-Highway Research are that in the US and Canada sales will exceed 210,000 units. To put this figure into perspective: if this number is achieved it will be the highest figure since the global financial crisis of over a decade ago. However, despite these positive figures there are some darkening clouds on the horizon. US-based industry giant Caterpillar's latest results saw sales for its construction segment decline by 7% compared to sales in the same quarter in 2018, with the company sounding a note of caution for the future.
