SKANSKA USING Al TO CUT EMISSIONS

Swedish construction firm Skanska is developing systems, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI), to help optimise the use of heavy equipment on construction sites. The company said that machinery and equipment can sometimes sit idle on site for up to 40% of the time, due largely to inefficiencies in planning and equipment choices. Apart from these issues leading to greater expense for contractors and developers, equipment idling on site can significantly increase carbon emissions.
