CM LabS Simulations, developer of Vortex training simulators, will be releasing a host of new training technologies. CM Labs will be launching its new Augmented Reality (AR) application, which makes it possible for instructors to bring a virtual mobile crane into the classroom, where trainees can interact with it, conduct walkarounds, and learn the fundamentals of machine inspection. Once trainees are familiar with the equipment, they can get behind the controls of an equipment simulator and work through the built-in training curriculum, or focus on the development of specific operator skills. Two training simulators will be on display at the booth: Vortex Advantage and the desktop Vortex Edge Plus. Software and system developer ITK Engineering will be making its debut at Bauma, showcasing its solutions toward enhancing occupational safety and health and productivity for mobile machinery using smart sensors. The company will present its 3D terrain mapping application. This smart camera-based assistance system detects people and objects on terrain where visibility is poor. Vendor-agnostic, it integrates into mobile machinery of different manufacturers. The company will also present a safety surveillance application with redundant radar sensors and, using a concrete mixing plant serving as an example, will demonstrate how a safety-critical system can be created and configured in the virtual realm using optical ray tracing.
