Journalists from the major European media, were present at the press conference held in Bologna for the next Ceramitec

Last November 17th and 18th, in Bologna, an international press conference has been organised by Monacof iere for presenting the next Ceramitec 2006. Journalists from the major European sectoral media were present at the meeting. In addition to the press conference, some guided tours to the premises of two major ceramic firms had been organised and namely: Sacmi, in Imola, and Laminam in Fiorano Modenese. The tour included a visit to the offices and production plants of Sacmi, its advanced research centre, the ceramic laboratory and Must, Sacmi's museum of ceramic technology; the purpose of the visit was to illustrate what Sacmi has developed in terms of innovative products. In particular, in the technology laboratory, the delegation had the opportunity to see the new CON-TINUA technology in action; this is an innovative powder compaction system that allows decoration not only of the tile surface but of the entire tile body; randomisation ensures each piece is absolutely unique, just as in nature. The Sacmi Group will be at this key German fair with its German subsidiaries - Laeis, Riedhammer and Sama - and the Heavy Clay division; Sacmi, in order to achieve greater market shares, is currently channelling significant resources into the latter. Through Sacmi Forni, in fact, a highly specialised department for the development of tunnel kilns, tunnel/continuous/semi-continuous and chamber driers for the production of all types of brick and roof tiles has been established.
