摘要

Our Content Creation feature on the BBC's decree that material shot on Super 16mm film would not be acceptable for its HD channel (IBErnMarch/April 07) provoked responses from directors of photography (DPs) who, while not wanting to be seen as reactionary or 'anti-video', are unhappy that the medium should automatically be struck off their list of choices for a given HD television project. But there is growing evidence that this may not actually be the case. In addition to the example we gave of Five Days, a BBC drama shot on 16mm film and posted in HD last year, come new reports of other major BBC TV seriesrnbeing shot on 16mm which look likely to become destined for HD playout.
