The Euro 2008 soccer tournament featured higher quality television coverage than ever before and one of the innovative contributions came from the use of Panasonic cameras 'flying' over the pitch at high speed in SpiderCam rigs. Suspended on four cables extending from pylons positioned at each corner of the stadium, the SpiderCam dolly can move in 3D at up to 9 metres per second and cover the entire pitch to give a birdseye view of the action, no matter how fast-moving it is.
