While the world's (and especially the UK's) cable and IPTV players (Virgin and BT Vision) struggle to hold ontornsubscribers, satellite goes from strength to strength. Satellite transmission has been wholly immune from the current economic crunch. Pay-TV broadcasting as well as the thousands of free-to-air channels beaming out across Europe have their capacity booked years in advance, so are unlikely to be cancelling those contracts. However, a new study from highly regarded Paris-based Euroconsult suggests that there's even more growth ahead for satellite operators.
