The way philosophy was taught in Rome in the century that saw the condemnation of Bruno and Galileo is obviously of considerable interest, and this book provides a useful tool to understand how the University of Rome, or the " Sapienza " as it was known, coped with the rise of modern philosophy and the censorship of the Church.
