The fifth annual " Tuesday Encounters " series has just drawn to an end. As in previous years it was organised by the " History of Science Seminar " interu-niversity research centre, housed at the University of Bari. This year the theme was The Beauty of Science. Intersections between history, science and art. Pro-viding researchers with the opportunity to go beyond the limits of academic communication, and discuss their research results with a wider public, was the aim of the two organisers, Francesco Paolo de Ceglia and Liborio Dibattista, together with Mauro Di Giandomenico, director of the " History of Science Seminar ", who kindly made the research centre available as the site of the series.
