Nicole Oresme, Quaestiones super geometriam Euclidis

Sometime before 1351, Nicole Oresme (ca. 1320-1382) composed a series of 21 questions on Euclid's Elements. Many of the questions deal with infinity and continuity. Some deal with angles, trying to place angles within the Aristotelian categories, and concluding that angles are a certain kind of accident. Questions 10-17 deal with the visual representation of variations in qualities and motions. The mature results of Oresme's thinking on this subject were collected in his Tractatus de Configurationibus Qualitatum et Motuum, which appeared after 1351 (the text and translation of this later work was published by Marshall Cla-gett in 1968).
