PM launches Malaysian and Aerospace and Maritime 2012 Report AT LIMA 2013

The Prime Minister YAB Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today launched the much awaited Aerospace Industry Report (AIR) 2013 and the Maritime Industry Report (SBSR 2013) published by MIGHT during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA'13). The 2013 AIR report indicated major gains in overall aerospace industry performance for 2012, recording a turnover growth of 9.4 percent compared to 2011, and contributing 3.23 percent to the country's GDP. The RM30.3 billion turnover is backed by the vibrant airline activities particularly the low cost carriers, the expansion of aerospace manufacturing businesses and the positive development in the airport sub-sector. The said industry's positive development is also as a result of the execution of investment projects namely Aviatron, Eurocopter, RUAG, BHIC Aeroservices and Sepang Aircraft Engineering.
