At the outset, it needs to be understood that stealth (or low observable) technology is fiendishly difficult to master, apart from being horrendously expensive to develop. Thus, there is only one aircraft in regular service - the Lockheed Martin F-22 - that is effectively stealthy. That company's F-35, once fully operational, will be at least as stealthy as the F-22, and possibly even more so. Western European combat aircraft like the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Dassault Rafale, based on fourth-generation technology, are not stealthy in the accepted sense.
