YouTube's application of a "restricted mode" setting to an LGBTQ group's videos did not unlawfully imply that the videos contain "shocking" or "obscene" content, a federal magistrate judge in San Jose, California, has ruled. In a January 6 order, U.S. Magistrate Judge Virginia K. DeMarchi of the Northern District of California dismissed Divino Group LLC's false-advertising claim, saying YouTube's restricted-mode feature does not insinuate anything specific enough to be deceptive.
