Book Review — Risky Business: Financing and Distributing Independent Films

We occasionally receive review copies of new publications that at first glance may seem somewhat unrelated to our subscribers' law practice. One such book was Mark Litwak's new treatise on setting up an independent film production project. In his new materials, the author states that someone wanting to succeed in filmmaking not only must understand his or her craft, but also must understand production, marketing, and distribution. In addition, the related legal issues can trap and overwhelm anyone in the filmmaking industry.
