Taiwan offers a unique market for small and mid-cap companies seeking new investment. It has a strong base of retail investors who are some of the wealthiest, most sophisticated and internationally adventurous in Asia. They put premiums on certain strategic industries, giving Taiwan unusually high levels of liquidity. The Taiwan Stock Exchange has an average IPO size of US$15-30 million, making its investors particularly receptive to emerging growth companies.
