Europe and India may be worlds apart economically and socially, but they present some similar challenges to fund managers. Europe's debt crisis has sapped confidence and caused investors to look abroad for higher returns, as our latest survey of the Euro 100 (right) shows. In India political stagnation and slowing economic growth have caused domestic equities to tumble and depressed the assets of most fund managers (page 52). Recent signs of progress on Europe's financial problems and a revival of reform efforts in India are raising hopes in both markets.
