In decades of development work, industry has seen many new NDT applications. It would seem that virtually all known principles have already been used, and yet new applications still keep coming. Sometimes, however, combinations of known principles with new applications are so novel that they can be called exceptional. One such technique is the use of pulsed eddy currents for accurate wall thickness measurements through thermal insulation with thicknesses up to 3 inches (75 mm).
