Nuclear power plant inspection scanners

Phoenix Inspection Systems has launched new updated versions of two of its nuclear power plant inspection scanners. Both SAGE and APSIS are designed specifically for use on pressurised water reactors (PWRs) and have proven track records within the industry.rnSAGE is used for the inspection of pipe and nozzle welds and, in the latest revision, MAXI-SAGE has been designed to inspect critical welds on the primary circuit. The scanner can be assembled in less than 10 minutes to minimise the time operators spend in contaminated areas. It allows for the simple interchange of probes, allowing greater flexibility to use different numbers and configurations.
