Davenport: Cocom Input Informs Jfcom Work On Concepts

U.S. Joint Forces Command's new work on concepts aimed at meeting key warfighter needs features unprecedented participation from combatant commanders and a refined focus on smaller, more structured experiments, according to Rear Adm. Dan Davenport, director of the command's J-9 directorate.rnThis year's projects are part of the 2009/10 Joint Concept Development and Experimentation plan, a classified effort addressing 45 major warfighter needs for the next two years, Davenport told Inside the Pentagon in a Jan. 6 interview.rnKnown as the JCD&E, the plan supports four DOD priorities: defeating terrorists networks; preventing hostile states and non-state actors from acquiring or using weapons of mass destruction; shaping the choices of countries at a strategic crossroads; and defending the homeland.
