A key effort to modernize the Air Force's B-2 bomber faces a two-year setback if language proposed by the Senate Armed Services Committee is made law, according to the Air Force.rnThe service, in appealing the Senate committee's recommendation to withhold 50 percent of the Air Force's $92.3 million request in fiscal year 2011 for the B-2 Extremely High Frequency Increment 2 program, singles out a provision in the Senate version of the FY-11 defense authorization bill that would fence funding until the completion of an independent technical review as well as an audit by congressional investigators.
