DOT&E: Info Assurance Technology Needs Sustainment Plans, SOPs

Defense officials need to complete a life-cycle sustainment plan for a critical enabling technology for information assurance, and refine standard operating procedures and training for those using it, according to a report from the Pentagon's top weapons tester. In a report released last month, the Defense Department's director of operational test and evaluation, J. Michael Gilmore, also calls on the program manager for the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to develop more realistic schedules for future development, capability testing and milestone decisions.
