Lawmakers Fence Off Ground Combat Vehicle Funds Pending Army Report

The House passed a fiscal year 2014 defense authorization agreement last week that would restrict funding for the Ground Combat Vehicle until the Army submits a full assessment of the program as well another report on the service's efforts to assess the combat vehicle industrial base. The defense authorization agreement, which was hashed out by a group of lawmakers from the House and Senate early last week, passed the full House on Dec. 12. The full Senate must now take up the matter this week if it is to be signed into law by President Obama.
