DISA Official: Joint Force Headquarters With CYBERCOM Coming Soon

A joint force headquarters will soon be established for the Defense Information Systems Agency and U.S. Cyber Command to manage defense networks, according to an official from DISA who advised industry to be ready to support the effort. Anthony Montemarano, DISA's director for strategic planning and information, did not mention a specific date for when the new JFHQ would be authorized, but said an initiative to create the JFHQ is circulating around the Pentagon. The initiative has "very, very good support, so we really believe this is going to come to pass ... so the name of the game is to be ready for that as that emerges and that's not going to be very far off," Montemarano said Oct. 17 at a defense industry conference in Vienna, VA.
